David A. Boone, D.D.S.

Grand Rapids, MI Dentist

Dr. Boone graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1999, and has been helping the people of West Michigan smile brighter ever since. After practicing dentistry for nearly four years in Spring Lake, Michigan Dr. Boone went on to pursue his desire to open a practice of his own in his home town, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Boone is committed to providing his patients with the utmost in dental care, from patient comforts to state-of-the-art technology. Your smile is his top priority! He keeps abreast of current dental knowledge by maintaining memberships with the ADA, MDA and WMDDA and attending regular continuing education courses. Dr. Boone is married, with six children, and enjoys spending most of his free time doing various activities with his family.

Stefanie L. Boone, Executive Assistant

Stefanie is the Executive Assistant at Smiles by Design, and Dr. Boone's wife. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.  Among other things, she manages such areas as practice marketing, accounts payable, and practice consulting. While you won't see her face much around the office, she is always busy working to make your overall experience as a patient at Smiles by Design the best it can be!  In her spare time, Stefanie loves to attend various sporting events and playdates with her six children.

Janelle A. Hill, Treatment Coordinator, RDH, Dental Assistant

Janelle is the Treatment Coordinator at Smiles by Design. She is also a Registered Dental Hygienist, certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation, as well as a Dental Assistant.  A graduate of Grand Rapids Community College, Janelle brings over 7 years of experience in all areas of the dental field. As Treatment Coordinator, it is most important to her to provide the best customer service possible, while providing high quality dental care. "I am the first person you speak to when you call our office. The first person you see when you enter the office. That matters to me. I do what I say I’m going to do, in a timely fashion, so patients know that not only I, but our office is here for them. Patients are the most important part of our office. And I’m going to show them we appreciate that the best way I can, by showing them I care, and their needs are important.” Janelle continues her love for dentistry by keeping up on the latest dental technology through educational classes. She lives in the downtown Grand Rapids area and enjoys going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Gina L. Scheidel, RDH

Gina is a Registered Dental Hygienist at Smiles by Design. She graduated with honors from Grand Rapids Community College in 1995 and is also certified in the administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. Her top priority is to give her patients the best dental care possible while helping them to obtain the smile that they've always wanted. She is consistently continuing her education in the field by taking courses in hygiene and all other aspects of dentistry. Gina is married and has two daughters. In her spare time she is happy to be on her boat, camping, or simply enjoying family time.

Barbara J. McKellar, RDH, Dental Assistant

Barb is a Registered Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant at Smiles by Design. She is a graduate of Grand Rapids Community College.  While her job is to see that Dr. Boone has the necessary tools to do the task at hand, her top priority is seeing that the patient is warm and comfortable throughout their time in the dental chair. She is dedicated to her profession and strives to continually better her knowledge of all dental aspects. Barb resides in Jenison and loves to stay active outdoors and spending time with her three children.

Katrina R. Pranger

October 9, 1971 - June 8, 2011

Our co-worker and friend has left this earth for a better place. Katrina’s heart never failed anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, but in the end, it failed her. She will be sorely missed by all who crossed paths with her. Katrina leaves behind her husband, Shane, and their two dog-babies, as well as a multitude of family and friends.
